Sugarland, Tx – Helping Autism with golf tournament fundraiser signs

BY: Patti & Jim Snyder, Front Row Signs

As a business located and living in the West Houston area, we feel committed to supporting community initiatives which can significantly improve life for everyone, economically, socially or otherwise. When the opportunity arose for us to give back to our community through the Autism advocates non-profit organization, Hope for Three, we were happy to offer our involvement.

Autism is the fastest growing developmental disability in the U.S. affecting 1 in 45 children. Over 3,000 children diagnosed on the autism spectrum are enrolled in Fort Bend County public schools. The non-profit provides assistance (financial aid) for autism related expenses to children that may be uninsured or underinsured to clients in Fort Bend County.

Hope for Three needed help with custom signs for their annual Golf “fore” Autism Fundraiser at Sugar Creek Country Club in Sugarland, TX. One of their top fundraisers for the year, their golf tourney brings individuals and business partners together to enjoy a day of golf, fun and creative games, dinner and awards ceremony all to support the charitable organization.

There are usually challenges associated with this type of event and we problem solved our little hearts out to make their stress around the sign portion of their program non-existent. We put the same quality, attention and care into every single job that we take on, whether it is for a client, a charity, a fundraiser or any other group.

The challenges we crushed included frequent sponsor changes and updates, high resolution file and logo retrieval, short turn around time, multiple levels of sponsor levels such as their prominence & location on the sign hierarchy, rules and regulations of the golf club for sign placement,  installation obstacles, and brainstorming options that would allow the organization to re-use some signs while others were event specific.

With the sponsor list constantly changing, sometimes hourly, we had to continually update our lists, rearrange the layout format, and revise often to accommodate the changes. Constant list review for accuracy and inclusion was examined regularly. We also had to receive each sponsor’s high resolution logo to include on the signs which involved numerous emails, phone calls and list updates as well.

Once we received all the logos, we had to create a design that not only incorporated the different sponsors but also layout placement so that the sign was aesthetically pleasing. Considering all those different logos, clashing colors, plus the size constraints, this wasn’t going to be a quick and easy fix but our designer with his 29 years of experience was definitely up for the challenge!

The sponsorships offered different donation levels and with it, different sign benefits. We had to ensure that the correct signage placement went with the correct sponsor on multiple signs. Since they were continuing to accept new sponsorships up to a few days before the event, we were constantly updating the list, the design and the format.

Next we tackled some concerns about portable and reusable options. We chose the retractable banners for this need and instructed them on the setup and storage steps. We are the experts and always offer solutions that best fit the need while educating the client to help them make a stress free but sound decision.

Now that all the signs were printed and ready to go, the day of the event was at hand. We were also participating in the event as a golf team so we offered to transport and install all the signs. Some changes occurred once we were ready to install the banner as the placement was updated to the pro shop. With existing awnings that couldn’t be blocked and other signs for the country club already in place, we had to do some quick thinking on our feet. It all worked out!

Based on the many accolades from the participants, country club staff, volunteers and team members representing the charity of how awesome all the signs looked, we feel it was well worth it and a successful event! We are passionate about the work we do in sign production, graphic design, manufacturing, assembly and installation. Contact us for your next charity event and let’s see what we can do to help.
