BY: , Your Business

You can’t have an event or drive around town without noticing an abundance of food trucks. Their popularity is still on the rise. Some are decked out with fully wrapped graphics while some contain spot graphics and decals. You can get as creative as you like with your design, in fact we encourage it! Your branding and color choice can offer high visibility as you attend events or drive around town. We recommend high contrasting colors that draw attention. There are considerations to help choosing the best type of graphics. Let’s contemplate what design factors are important when choosing graphics for your food truck or any vehicle graphics.

Design 101 for Vehicle Graphics

  • Keep all important text at least 3 inches away from any edges
  • solid colors are best around raised area so that pertinent information doesnt look distorted
  • consider the look of the design in 2D to the actual vehicle in 3D-this can cause placement issues
  • Incorporate the color of the vehicle into the design for a cohesive look
  • always triple check spelling, phone numbers and website addresses are correct. You do not want to have misinformation blasted all over town
  • Choose a design that represents or compliments your branding-Mimic the same elements from your other marketing campaigns and materials

Wrap Care

Vehicle Graphics Example: Bus Wrap

The amount of time your wrap will last is dependent on a couple of factors-your location, the type of material used for the wrap, how it was installed & how you take care of the vehicle post wrap. The higher quality the vinyl and laminate, the longer the wrap will last. You get what you pay for here when it comes to cheaply made or high quality vinyls. Intense heat/cold and weather exposure has a major effect on when you can expect fading or failure. Check the manufacturer warranty. For example, in our area of Houston, if the warranty recommends 6-7 years, it is actually 3-4 due to our weather. This doesn’t mean that at the 3 year mark the wrap will start to fail. It is just an expectation but only a portion of the factors that affect how long it may last. Post care if very important after your wrap. You should avoid harsh detergents, waxes and be careful of heavy brushes from drive through car washes. A very important consideration rests on the skill level of the installer. Ensure your wrap installer has experience.

Whether you have one vehicle or a fleet, graphics for your vehicle will pay you time and time again. It is a good investment spent to increase your brand reach and drive more customers to your business.
