Sometimes you may not know what is the best sign to choose for your business. This is especially true when it refers to vehicle graphics and wraps. There are multiple options from a full wrap to partials and spot graphics, & many different vinyl choices. To decide which option fits best, Front Row Signs will ask pertinent questions to see what our customers are trying to accomplish. Here are some of our processes we walk our clients through at our initial contact:
- We guarantee our integrity & workmanship
- We provide a vehicle survey to assess current condition, take accurate measurements and photos
- We provide a detailed estimate based on our survey assessment and your needs
- We explain our recommendations and customer service process
- Artwork- please provide vector files .ai & .eps preferred with high resolution images
- Vehicle Prep-Vehicle is clean and ready for graphics to be applied (any prep work required, e.g., removing existing graphics, adhesive residue, glue, primer, edge sealants, etc. is an additional charge).
- We do not perform body work. Any dents or imperfections in the vehicle may result in vinyl adherence issues and should be fixed before wrap begins.
- If vehicle is freshly painted, we may require up to 30 days before wrapping to allow the paint to properly outgas.
It is important to assess the vehicle in person to determine condition. We prefer to perform a survey before pricing if possible or at least before beginning the job. We have a form that we walk through with the client to assure we are both aware of potential issues. It’s similar to when you rent a vehicle and you walk through with the renting agent noting any issues on the form. We want to be as accurate as possible so we take many measurements and inspect the vehicle very closely. This allows us to estimate more accurately and assure the client will receive the correct materials for their type of vehicle.
Why are their different types of vinyl and how can we choose which ones will be the best fit for your vehicle? It depends on the vehicle make and model. Many panel vans or box trucks have a primarily flat surface so we would choose a vinyl that supports that style such as 3M 40C, General Formulations 240 Automark, or HP GRP. One caveat is that these types of vehicle may have an extensive number of rivets which can be time consuming to ensure the vinyl doesnt lift around them so another type of vinyl may be necessary. Most cars and some trucks may have complex curves or deep recesses which need a higher performance vinyl that will stretch and conform to these curves. Some examples include 3M IJ180C, Arlon SLX and Avery MPI 1105. Knowing which vinyl will work best with your vehicle is imperative for longevity and risk of lifting or other issues.
