Sign Needs Repair and is Not Visible

We all have our subjective viewpoints and are entitled to our own opinions. But, there are certain situations that are not necessarily well suited to anyone’s personal taste or design purposes, when a sign is just simply terrible. There are situations that anyone could see and know right away there is a problem. We will get into that later on in the article, but understand there are some things that disqualify a sign from being good or even decent right off the bat. We will provide some examples and explain the difference, so you won’t have to make a terrible mistake when ordering a sign or graphic for your company or organization here in Richmond, Texas or elsewhere. Let’s just dive right in, shall we?

Poor Construction

Poorly constructed signs are not only distasteful and tacky, they are a major safety hazard for the public and staff of the business or organization. These situations can quickly escalate into legal problems for a business if the sign installation was done by an unqualified, untrained or inexperienced individual (what you might consider DIY signage). If their materials aren’t sturdy enough, if there are visible signs of disorder, looseness or uneven placement in any way, people will take notice. If regulators notice, you could also face penalties or other problems. A poorly constructed sign will detract from your business or organization in a number of ways, but the worst is the damage it will do to your reputation. Always hire a qualified professional, such as those at Front Row Signs in Richmond, Texas.

Poor Design

Another obvious indication of a terrible sign or graphic display is poor design elements or an overall design that looks horrendous. The design might be confusing in some way or it might just be ugly. It might not make sense or it might just be too busy or too colorful. More is not better when it comes to graphic design. The overall design should be simple in concept and cohesive as a whole. Some designs are just plain gross and ugly. The colors might be dark or blown up for a large sign, which can turn people away. Some signs just send the wrong message with one or more elements of color, design, images, text or typography. For example, imagine a billboard ad for a funeral home that used a black background with bold red color splashes and dark grey letters. This would appear morbid for anyone who lost a family member and it could appear insensitive. A better message would be a white background, simple or elegant text stating a brief message, with a photo of the owner or manager in a tuxedo.
