Flags are a great way to help your business STAND OUT. Flags are popular for apartment complexes, so a new complex in Las Vegas called Courtyards @ Harmon knew they needed them on their property.
The flags Insignia Signs offers come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors. The most common type is a feather flag, which people put near the street to grab people’s attention.

The two most common ways to display these flags are: 1. a cross-base that sits on the ground 2. putting them right into the ground. Insignia Signs sells small, medium, large, and extra large flags in the shape of a feather flag, square, and teardrop. We suggest limited verbiage on the flags to keep it simple, people driving by do not have much time to read them. A good example of this would be a nail salon looking to bring attention to their store – rather than putting their logo or company name they may just put NAILS. Short and simple!
The flags that are commonly used in apartment complex properties are 6′ high x 3′ wide and can be a variety of colors. This property chose to do 8 flags – 4 being gray and yellow and 4 being gray and orange – installed with the colors alternating. Each flag is hemmed with a 2″ pole pocket on ONE side, and seamed/closed at the top. We also gave the pole pocket extra material to ensure it would last for 10+ years without tearing. The poles that hold the flags are 30 feet high and are inserted in a 2 foot sleeve that’s in the ground 18 inches. The poles that this property preferred were white to match their existing poles next door so we fabricated metal posts that were painted white.
To install the flags, the first step was to dig the holes for the sleeves. The sleeves are a few inches above the ground and 24 inches long, so we dug 18 holes and poured cement into the ground, then inserted the sleeve into the drying/setting cement. The cement Insignia Signs uses is a fast drying cement, so we pour some water into the hole along with the cement, set the sleeve, and allow it to dry in place. Once the sleeve is in, the pole is slid snug into the sleeve and all set!
