Insignia Signs recently received a request from Las Vegas Dance Academy to help with their exterior signage. The landlord requires channel letters but for now Mary decided to go with a banner above her door because it could be fabricated and installed quicker than channel letters.
The storefront had the old tenant’s signage which included foam letters and a lightbox. We presented a few ideas to Las Vegas Dance Academy for their signage, one which was to cover the existing signage by installing a banner over it. We did that first, but the banner looked crinkled and didn’t lay smoothly over the existing signage, so we decided to go with Plan B – remove the letters & lightbox, then install the banner flush onto the building. To remove the existing signage, Dean pulled off the letters and scraped off as much silicone as possible. He also removed the 12′ lightbox that was not in use.
Once the signage was removed Dean was able to re-install the banner. The banner size was 44″x120″ which Insignia fabricated on our HP Latex Printer. The Latex inks are the most innovative inks in the sign industry and produce vibrant, long lasting colors. When Insignia opened, we knew we needed the best equipment, and the HP Latex Printer has been a great part of our production process. We use an industrial strength banner tape to hem the edges to keep them re-enforced, and then grommet the banner every 2 feet. The grommets allow Dean to put washers in the banner and install it directly into the building.
Insignia Signs sees that many customers like to do temporary banners above their storefronts before channel letters to have a quicker turnaround time on obtaining their business name on their suite. Channel Letters are time consuming and expensive so a banner, if the landlord allows it, is a great route to go.
If you know a business that needs a temporary or permanent banner on their storefront – think of Insignia Signs!
