Insignia Signs recently received a request for crosswalk signs in a residential neighborhood. Our customer, a property management company, had just painted 2 crosswalks in the residential community they manage and wanted to be attract attention to it by adding signage before drivers approach them. /
What we suggested was a “063” aluminum since the sign was going to be 24″x24″. If signs on posts are going to be 12″x18″ we would suggest a thinner “040” aluminum but when the sign is larger it’s more susceptible to bending so we go with a thicker material. The sign also had reflective vinyl which is necessary to be visible for drivers in the dark. The headlights reflect the vinyl and allows it to really stand out. We did a yellow reflective background with a black reflective crosswalk symbol.
The posts we used were dark square posts which are a nice alternative to u-channel posts because they are nice and add a classier look. The sign was drilled onto the post, and to add an even cleaner look, we spray paint the visible screws yellow so there isn’t any metal standing out on the sign. Insignia always goes above and beyond to make sure our signs look their absolute best.
Dean installed the (2) signs and posts by digging a 24″ hole and adding cement. The cement is a quick drying cement so water is added and stirred, the post is put into the hole, and once it’s set it’s finished.
Before the installation was completed, Dean met the customer on site to mark the spots where the signs should go. Insignia offers free site surveys and we can accommodate our customers in every way possible. If we need to meet to mark a spot, we’re there! We do anything and everything to be sure the installation is completed properly.
