Insignia Signs recently had a request for interior letters for a clothing store in The Venetian Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. The clothing store offers various high brand designer clothing and wanted the namebrand logos installed onto the wall. The first order of business was to determine the material. Our customer really wanted a letter with dimension so there were a few options. Exterior letters are very limited in Las Vegas due to the heat and extreme sun exposure, but inside – the options are limitless. The most common material for exterior letters is Dibond, which is only 1/8″ thick so if our customers are looking for dimension, we suggest a 1/2″ MDO material or 1″ Komacell. All 3 of these material do great outdoors and can be painted any color. If a customer has a custom full color logo, we are able to print that, UV Laminate it, and apply it to the sign material they have chosen.
The logos for the clothing store would have very small letters so we had to be careful in the material we chose. We suggested a 1/8″ thick Dibond material and a 1/2″ PVC material. This would allow our customer to decide on the thickness and she chose the thicker, 1/2″ material. When we do exterior letters we are limited to the options because of the climate in Las Vegas.
The next step for the Venetian letters was to choose the color. Insignia Signs spray paints our letters so we gave her several options to choose from and she chose gold with glitter! A beautiful color!
The 1/2″ PVC material comes in 4’x8′ sheets and are cut on our CNC Router. The router cuts out the letters, even small ones that are less than an inch high! The letters were then painted.

These letters were inside and are very small so all it took to install them was an industrial strength double sided tape called VHB tape. The letters are installed using a paper pattern to ensure they are installed straight and evenly. There were several sets of letters so it was a very time consuming install, but everything was done perfectly.
We were happy to do this job because we appreciated the challenge of such small letters, a unique color, and a strategic installation.
