Insignia Signs recently received a request for a new post & panel sign. The company recently purchased a building and needed to advertise space for lease – a post & panel sign works great for just that. The crew at this cmopany knew they needed an MDO sign but weren’t sure of the size – they thought 5’x4′ but then decided to go bigger and went with a 8’x4′ sign. They decided on a vertical v-shaped sign.
The company’s design team sent print ready artwork to us and we printed directly from their file. The next step was to laminate the digital print with a UV laminate to protect the print outdoors. Insignia Signs uses a cold laminating process which is done using a 54″ roll of Briteline UV lamination film. The digital print and lam film, which are both 54″ wide, are fed through the laminator to create a cold, binding pressure, driving them to bond together to create a print that’s ready to be applied to a substrate. Below is a picture of our laminator:
Now that the (2) prints were ready to lay – we applied them to the 1/2″ MDO. The sheets of MDO are primed & painted so the digital vinyl adheres strongly to the face. The company has ordered a V-Shaped sign, which is (2) single sided posts installed in the shape of a “V” with (3) posts – great for corner lots!
The (2) signs were ready for installation. Dean went to the job site with the (2) 4×8 sheets, (3) posts, (1) bag of cement, paint, a bottle of water, and a hole digger. Before completing the install, Dean removed the existing 4’x4′ V-Shaped sign which was in the location of the new sign. The sign was removed, cement was poured into the holes, and the new post & panel sign was installed. Once the (2) single sided signs were installed Dean painted the visible portions of the 4″x4″ wood posts white to give them a finished look.
A picture of the sign is below, you can see it from any angle of the intersection and this will allow them to STAND OUT!
