Insignia Signs recently did a new job for a company called Vizion Furniture. The owner of the furniture store, Paul, received our direct mailer and was in need of new signage so he gave us a call to set up a site survey. Vizion Furniture is a premier modern furniture store that specializes in beautiful contemporary Scandinavian, North American, and Italian style furniture.
Vizion Furniture has two different building elevations visible from two main streets – Hacienda and Decatur. Paul knew he had to take advantage of quality advertising space on his building by having his name stand out big and bold. The first step in the process was a site survey. Paul’s current sign above his main entrance had extreme sun exposure and was beginning to fade, the paint was peeling off and in really bad shape. Dean, Insignia Sign‘s production manager and installer, evaluated the existing sign and knew he would be able to paint it rather than charging Paul for an entirely new sign. He also had smaller letters on a door a few feet away that read “ENTRANCE” which was also faded and peeling. In addition to the sign needing a new paint job, one of the “i’s” in Vizion had fallen off. The below picture is a BEFORE photo-
Dean was able to paint over the existing “Vizion Furniture” and “Entrance” letters and adhere a new “i” over what was left of the old one. Below is a completed photo-
In the back of the building the letters read “Vizion Furniture” but Paul had a completely new idea. He wanted us to remove the existing gatorfoam letters, patch & paint the building, and install new Dibond letters. He wanted to advertise a new brand Vizion now carries, “Stressless by Vizion Furniture” was what he had in mind. We decided to suggest our 1/8″ thick Dibond material because it will last such a long time outside – over 10 years. We decided to use a black Dibond material so it didn’t need to be painted, it just needed to be cut & installed! Exterior Signs are an essential part of a company’s building because it’s free advertising for people passing by and brings awareness to the building and business.
There were many steps for this portion of the job. The first step was removing the existing sign, which was “Vizion Furniture” in gatorfoam similar to the front front of the building. Once the letters were removed, the old silicone was scraped and cleaned off, which left pieces of stucco missing from the building. The next step is the patch and paint, where the stucco is replaced and once dried, painted over with a color that matches the building paint. It’s a process, but once the building is cleaned and cleared – the building is now ready for the new letters. The letters were cut from a 4’x8′ sheet of black 1/8″ thick Dibond on a CNC router. Our installer used a paper pattern to ensure straightness and centering, and installed each letter with industrial strength clear silicone. The completed photo is below-
The exterior building signs Insignia Signs did for Vizion Furniture shows the versability of what we can do. One sign needed painted so it didn’t have to be replaced, a great way to save money but have a fresh look to a sign, while the other needed completely removed and new letters installed.
If you know a company who needs a sign of any shape, size, or color to STAND OUT – think of Insignia Signs!
