We were recently contacted by Ryan G. the marketing coordinator with Siegel Suites, he was in need of a new directional sign outside one of the apartment communities. After seeing pictures of the sign, Insignia Signs informed Ryan that we would be able to apply a new vinyl overlay to the existing sign instead of replacing the entire sign. Replacing the vinyl only would be very cost effective for his company. Ryan liked the idea and told us to go ahead and get started. This article outlines our project of replacing a custom directional sign. Pictured below on the left is a photo of what the existing sign looked like with the text "Move-In Today". The existing directional sign was scratched and also faded by the sun. The picture on the right is of the new vinyl overlay applied to the directional sign. The end product turned out perfectly as the the color is bright and the text now reads "OFFICE" in hopes of driving traffic right to the rental office. The first step in our production process was to remove the signs (double sided side) and bring the pieces back to our shop for exact measurements. Once inside the shop we got the measurements of 96" x 32". Insignia Signs printed both full color graphics with our HP Latex printer. The vinyl was cut and taken back to our warehouse where the graphics were laminated with UV protectant. Next our production manager, Dean, cut out the graphics leaving an extra inch wide border around each arrow to make sure they fit perfectly on the existing sign. The new graphics are then applied to the sign, once they are in place the excess vinyl is cut off using an exacto knife. Once finished, Dean took the signs back to the property and re-installed them.
