When trying to find the perfect space for our sign store we pondered the most important attributes of the location.
- What area of town will be most beneficial?
- What size space is necessary for all of our equipment?
- Is warehouse space necessary for installation of vehicle graphics & perforated vinyl?
- Is a storefront necessary for concept consultation and graphic design services?
- Should we face a major road in hopes of walk-in traffic?
Our next location was a little nicer. This unit was located on Sunset Boulevard directly across from McCarran Airport. This was a very busy area with heavy traffic, and was great because it faced a major road. The unit was 2,000 square feet but had no warehouse space. This location is extremely close to Las Vegas Boulevard and would allow us to access the freeway and the strip quickly. We decided to keep looking, the search continued.
Our realtor told us of a property located on Smoke Ranch and Tenaya. This was an area we knew well located right off the 95 freeway. The unit is 1,600 square feet with two private office spaces, a large reception area, and a great amount of warehouse space in the rear with a roll up gate. Immediately after viewing this location we knew it was “the one”. Our deciding factors included:
- Perfect amount of square footage
- A roll up door big enough to allow cars to pull in to the warehouse for vehicle installs
- Close proximity to the 95 freeway and Summerlin Parkway
- Great reception area with room for our top of the line HP latex printer
- Big open warehouse and office space for producing signs of all shapes and sizes
This location did not face a busy street as the others did so we weighed out the importance of walk-in customers. We decided this was not a major factor in choosing our location as 85% of our customers are generated from other sources. The roll up door allows for cars to easily pull into the warehouse for installs. It will easily accommodate vinyl, decal, and perforated vinyl vehicle installs. The close proximity to the freeways was a major factor in choosing our location, as it was less than five minutes away from the 95 freeway and Summerlin Parkway. We are very pleased with the space we have chosen to open up our new sign shop and invite you to stop by any time!
