The first sign was for a local health food store, they were wanting a few way finding signs that could be placed on the side of the road and point in the direction of their store. Once the signs were produced and delivered, the customer was very happy. The actual sign was made out of corrugated plastic,.which will last a very long time when placed outside along the side of the road. Wayfinding signs are used to help people find our businesses and in this case there is an arrow pointing which direction they need to go. While you have to check your local codes for what is legal and what isn’t, in most cases you can use these small signs on a temporary basis. Another thing to think about is how much information you want to place on your sign. In this case the customer was trying to place as much information as possible onto the sign, but in the long run, it actually hurt him, because people only have a short amount of time to look at the sign. So with that being said, you want to put the most important information on your sign, such as your address, a direction arrow, the name of your company and maybe a teaser, so the customer will want to come to the store to find out exactly what you have. Colors can also play a big role when designing a sign, you want to use bright contrasting colors, so it will catch the eyes of people driving by and then in turn capture their curiosity and make them want to come into your store.
