Denver has a number of wonderful theaters and productions that run throughout the year. But it is the “out of the way” theaters that have always grabbed my attention. I particularly like those performances that are comprised of local actors, directors, and/or playwrights.
We are very fortunate to work with two amazing theater groups that perform at the John Hand Theater on the Lowry Campus of the Colorado Free University in Denver. The Denver Theater Examiner has called the John Hand Theater, “The top 5 hidden gems of Denver theaters”. The Firehouse Theater Company and the Spotlight Theater Company alternate performances throughout the year.
To advertise their performances, both companies use recyclable banners with clear grommets to place outside of the theater. We arrange a pickup of the old banners once the production has ended. Because the banners are dated and reflect the current performance, they can’t be re-used. So, instead of throwing traditional banners made of PVC in the trash to languish in landfills, we recommended that both companies use recyclable banners.
Reflection Signs and Graphics is an eco-SOLUTIONS trained printing company that uses water based, latex inks. We print on a number of eco-friendly media including Hewlett Packard’s #2, HDPE recyclable banner materials. Once the banners have served their purpose, we take back the banners and recycle them, free of charge, through HP’s Planet Partners Return and Recycling program (http://reflectionsigns.com/ecosolutions/banners/). We also recycle our print cartridges and other production and office items as part of our long-term commitment to sustainability in the printing business.
You can see our banners and the plays at 7653 E. 1st Place in Denver. The Spotlight Theater’s next play, “The Man Who Came to Dinner”, runs from November 17th through December 22nd. The Firehouse Theater’s next performance in January features the regional premier of the drama, “Boy Gets Girl”.
