Recently I saw an advertisement from a local business publication that was selling advertising space. I looked a little closer, and saw that the smallest was a little more than 9 square inches (1/6th of a page) at a cost of $350. The advertisement runs for one month, hit or miss, that’s it. And, if you run your ad in their publication every month, it would end up costing ,104 for a year of advertising.
Thinking this was a lot of money for a small ad in a local publication, I decided to compare this to another form of advertising that I’m familiar with: vehicle graphics. I needed to get some information to be able to quantify my comparison with hard numbers, so I inquired and discovered that the publication has a circulation of about 10,000 a month.
Compared to the reach vehicle graphics get, there are intersections in Denver that see more than 10,000 vehicles in a 24 hour period! And, I-25 sees exponentially more vehicles every day.

Also, consider this trend; print publication readership is declining due to the increased use of search engines and other electronic media.
