Signs for San Diego created and installed Harrell’s Exterior Building Sign in Vista. Harrell’s is a great example of a business park sign. We do a lot of these. Need an exterior Building Sign for a business park or industrial lactation? Here are the steps:
Artwork and Concept – When you first move in or realize you need a sign, look around. The sign policy of the Business Park is really on display in your neighbor’s spaces. Can you have a lighted sign, can it be larger, can the location be changed? All these questions are likely to be the same questions your new friends asked as well. This should give you a concept, then ask the marketing department for the artwork for your logo. Now you have some idea of size, scope and location.
Landlord or Property manager requirements. – There is a good chance that you already signed a lease or agreement outlining the sign policy or criteria. It is often found on the last page of your lease, or just ask for it. During the permit phase, you will need the property manager’s sign off, so creating a moment of discussion now will help pave the way.
Site Assessment – Give Signs for San Diego a call and we will come out and look at the building, your concept, Artwork and sign policy. We take pictures and measurements. From this we can estimate the cost and create a mock up.
Costs and Budgets – Many people fail to set a budget number because they feel it compromises some negotiating position. However, the costs are fairly constant. There are generally 3 levels: a flat, printed sign, an unlighted dimensional letter sign and a lighted signs. By telling us a budget number, we can work in the correct level and get you the most sign for the money.
Permit Approval. In San Diego North County we generally know what effort will be required to pull the permit. We will put together the permit package, go and apply. Some cities take a day and are very straight forward. Other take a week or 2 and are more confusing. We know this and prepare accordingly
Construction – We don’t generally start making the sign until after the permit is issued. The City can change the size, location or construction and we don’t “risk” this. Once the permit is issued, we start. The Vista sign is made from a dense PVC. It is an inch thick, heavy and durable.
Installation – We bring the old battle wagon of a bucket truck to you location with a couple of guys and start. We own the equipment so there is no restriction on timing, mileage, or limit on duration. This seems trivial, but most sign companies rent the lift and are severely restricted or they hire another sign company (like us) to do the work. Because we do a lot of these, we have the experience, the equipment and the inventory to do it more quickly and efficiently. This generally translates to a faster, cheaper and better job.
