Every new lighted sign is going up with LEDs. They are brighter, cost less to run and require less maintenance. Sold on a conversion to LED but don’t know what is involved?  At Signs for San Diego we do conversions to LED. Get rid of those old fluorescent bulbs and neon tubes. 1. We have the tools, not only the meters, testers and wiring tools, we have the ladders and bucket truck to reach into these signs. As a licensed electrical sign contractor, this is “our thing”
2. We are licensed, bonded and insured. Don’t risk your business image and the whole business to any firm that does not hold a C-45 (electrical sign) license. Electricians don’t know signs, and companies without a license are more dangerous to your bottom line than you know.
3. We come our and take off the faces on the sign. We remove the Neon, the supports and the other components for the neon. Then we dispose of these mercury filled and toxic gas filled tubes in an environmentally correct way.
4. We disconnect the transformer or ballast and make it safe. The electrocution risk in in the high voltage. Don’t attempt this yourself, let us do it.
5. We add in the 12 volt DC power supplies needed for your new LEDs [caption id="attachment_1025" align="alignright" width="150"] Power supplied for neon are called transformers and run 5000 to 15000 volts[/caption]
6. We mount the LEDs in strings into your cabinet. These are the correct LEDs, the correct color, focal length and range, the correct size. There are hundreds of choices – we can make the best choice for you
7. Replace your sign faces and turn on the sign. You will be running at a reduced electric cost, lower maintenance, more and more consistence brightness.

Should you convert your present sign illumination to LED? We think so. Don’t continue to lose money in your power bill, don’t pay to maintain the obsolete light sources, we think the time is now!
