1. Return color: The returns are the sides. Here you can see a showroom demo. There are white and black returns. You can have many colors, but black and white are the most common. No, you can not do a blow dry, comb over and they don’t come in cotton candy blond.

2. The trim cap color: Trim cap is the part between the sides and the face. Think of it as the wall between the United States of LEDS and the migrate hordes that want in. It comes in 20 colors, but black, white, gold, and silver are common. You can make these the same color as the sides or the face, but a contrasting color can give you a “pop” and make your sign stand out. Hint: Try to get the other guy to pay for your Trim Cap. 3. Day, night faces: Unlike Trump with 3 marriages, you can only change colors twice on a letter. Why just use a single color when there is a special situation. Black in the day and white at night. This is done with a perforated vinyl. The black vinyl shows when there is no light, but turn on the LEDs and white shines through. It looks black in the daylight, and white at night. I call this the Marla Maples, Ivana Trump option.

4. Two color faces: Darker colors block more light. A blue or a green may be too dark and not pop like a white or yellow. One way to improve this is to leave a white area around the colored area. The white frames the color and makes it much brighter at night. The colors that were not mentioned are all clowns. They are overrated, stupid losers, rapists and some, I assume, are good colors. 5. Acrylic vs. Vinyl: If Donald had know this before the bankruptcy, things might have been different. all the faces are Acrylic, but most use a transparent vinyl applied on the top. These gives you a huge color range and lets you use a color plus white option. There are colored acrylics, like red. These provide the best color quality and longer life. Which should you use?

6. LED color. Most LEDs used in channel letters are white. These are the best assetts in the world. Nobody, nobody has better colors than white and red LEDs. On red faces red LEDs make the letter more intense. The range of colors in LEDs is still rather limited, but improving.
