Local Search Engine Optimization for a Storage Facility
A Self Storage Facility came to us looking to increase their rankings for Boat and RV storage searches. This company specializes in over-sized units so they are perfect for people who are looking to store larger sized objects. Their rankings in the smaller communities near them were fairly good, but they were interested in ranking for the larger city that was slightly further away, Spring, TX. Within a few months we were able to significantly improve their rankings within Spring, TX and the surrounding areas as well. Below is our local search engine strategy in more detail.
Creating Local Landing Pages
After getting all of their tracking setup and measuring their current keyword rankings, our first action item was to create RV Storage and Boat Storage local landing pages. After designing and developing the pages, we went to work optimizing them. Our strategy included on-site optimization as well as off-site link building and citation building. Additionally, we needed to optimize their Google My Business to include the Spring, TX area we were trying to rank for.
Citation Strategy
Our citation strategy usually consist of a combination of 3rd party tools and manual citation creation. We use Moz Local to establish a foundation of citations and to ensure that existing citations are updated with the correct NAP. From there we use other tools to search and locate high value citation opportunities. We do this on a monthly basis to ensure that our clients always have the highest value citations and to double check that all citations have the current and correct NAP. We also keep an eye out for duplicate citations and make an effort to close those listings.
Link Building
Our local search engine optimization strategy also consists of finding link opportunities and capitalizing on them as often as possible. Again we use a combination of experience, 3rd party tools, and hard work to seek out any link building opportunities available to our clients.
