There are different methods of marketing.
Some people call this the
marketing mix.
Most of the time your company needs to figure out which of these they need use. This is not a definitive list but I have jotted down some of the more commones ones.
- Websites
- Pay per click advertising
- Remarketing
- Radio
- Billboards
- Newspapers
- Magazines
- Yellow Pages
- Apps
- the mail
- door to door advertising
- car wraps
- group or event sponsorships
- social media
- celebrity endorsement
- odd location advertising such as park benches, light post, or electric posts.
Honestly I said that wasn't a definitive list but I can't think of anything else so I'll just leave it at that.
Believe it or not, even in 2020 the Yellow Pages still gets more readers than you realize. And if you advertise with them you can probably get them to advertise you online with minimal extra cost.
As I was mentioning in a previous post, people of the older generation don't really subscribe to digital marketing means.
I have lived in a lot of countries and instead of printing out the banners that you can hang somewhere some companies take paint and draw their advertisement on the side of a building or a house or wherever they can. Now if you've got vector designs that you are drawing then it's pretty easy to paint. When you're done you just paint over it.
All this to say that you need to look at the entire marketing mix in order to determine where your potential clients are and how to reach. It might just be one of the above methods or could be a combination of them could be all of them.
A quick comment on the world's most famous brand.
One of the best companies of the world when it comes to marketing is Coca-Cola.
Hands down they do some of the best marketing on the planet because their potential client-base is every person on the plant.
They have stuck to the same logo since they started and it's never changed. It's recognizable everywhere. I've traveled around the globe and a Coke is a Coke. There is something to be said about that.
I have seem them advertise on all possible means in all possible ways. They aren't stuck to any specific method and because of that they are most most famous brand in hisotry.
