Pick a pair of pumpkin signs from the pumpkin patch!
After a long hot summer here in Texas, people are ready for their Fall Fairs. It’s all about pumpkins, falling leaves, hay mazes and fun rides for the kiddos. St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church was planning their annual Fall Festival and they needed some fun height requirement signs for the safety of their children. Based on a referral from the Dallas Executive Association (DEA), they reached out to Visual Dynamics Sign and Image Solutions to see if we could help bring their sign vision to life.
St. Francis of Assisi in Frisco, TX had their beautiful building dedicated on December 7, 2013. This Catholic church currently has over 30,000 registered parishioners in that very brief period. With over 50 ministries, they hold many well attended events and service those in need throughout the community.
Safety doesn’t always mean boring. In order to stick with their Fall Festival theme, the church wanted fun, happy stacked pumpkins to represent how tall each rider needed to be before they could board each ride. They provided us with an adorable graphic file of three stacked pumpkins holding a sign. They explained that this is an annual event hosted by the church, so they needed the two height requirement signs to be durable enough to be reused but also easy to adjust and pack down for storage. Our design team created two 48” tall height requirement signs out of foam board that was cut with a router to follow the exact curves of the pumpkins. The image of the three stacked pumpkins was printed onto vinyl, laminated and cut out before being directly applied to the foam boards. They also fabricated a wood base and pole for support. They installed magnets on the support base and back of the height requirement sign so it would remain upright and sturdy but also pack up easily and be placed into storage. We delivered the height requirement signs well before the weekend of the Fall Festival, and the adorable signs were a hit.
This fun and happy pumpkin sign can help young riders know if they are tall enough to get on board.
