Looking to gain some privacy for diners at their restaurant, the owners of Bonnie Ruth’s in Frisco, Texas reached out to Visual Dynamics Sign and Image Solutions. They had seen some of our previous work completed at Serendipity Labs in Frisco, so they knew they could trust us to achieve the look they wanted using frosted glass vinyl.
Bonnie Ruth’s is a casual upscale restaurant with locations in Frisco and Plano, Texas. Sophisticated French-American cuisine is served up for lunch and dinner in a classic neighborhood bistro atmosphere, occasionally with live music (see website for performance bookings). Their Saturday and Sunday Brunch Buffet is always a crowd pleaser too.

The windows that they wanted covered in frosted glass vinyl were in their dining room area. The windows were floor to ceiling height and looked out onto the patio area of a neighboring restaurant. They wanted the windows covered in frosted vinyl to allow some outside light to pass through, but to also provide both sets of diners some privacy while they enjoyed their meals. They also wanted to add a logo and a text name for some branding that they were testing. During our on site consultation, we took pictures and measurements of the windows which were used to create a mock up for the customer’s approval. With the frosted glass design created and approved, our Visual Dynamics Sign and Image Solutions production team got to work on cutting the image and text on the frosted glass vinyl. The most challenging part of this project was the weeding. The lines on the barrel and the spout were very fine and close together, but with a steady hand and some patience, we were able to get them done. With the frosted glass vinyl all prepped, our installation team went to the restaurant to install the completed project. The windows got a deep cleaning to ensure that all the dust and debris were removed before the frosted glass vinyl was installed. The frosted glass panels were installed quickly and the customer loved the results.
