Keller Williams Realty, an American-based international real estate franchise company, has built a belief system that incorporates its strategy for success and communicates it to all company owners and employees in several ways. As a part of that strategy, KW has a number of short sayings that express some of those sentiments.
Keller Williams Greater Cleveland Southwest decided to visually promote the desired culture. As a part of that effort, it was decided to add a pattern of KW sayings to a 452” (37 2/3 feet) wide purple wall in their large meeting room. To accomplish this task, they turned to All Kinds of Signs.

Fortunately, they had artwork that showed all the sayings that were to be displayed. Unfortunately, the artwork didn’t fit the wall. So the first task was to completely redesign the pattern of sayings. It was decided to leave about 3.5’ on each end of the wall blank so there would be some white (purple) space. A proof with a block of graphics 74” high and 369’ wide was submitted and accepted.
The next step was to perform a wall test. With the changes in modern paint, it is no longer viable to simply use a quality self-adhesive vinyl and trust it will stick to the wall. We used a 3M wall test kit, checking adhesion of a couple of different vinyls. The test indicated that 3M Scotchcal 50 intermediate white vinyl would work well, and that was used.
We decided to cut blocks of vinyl, so pretty much each saying became a block. Everything would fit together to make the desired pattern. The vinyl was cut on our trusty Graphtec FC5100. After weeding and taping everything, notes were made on the back of the liner paper so the installer’s job was a little easier.
Installation was done by one man. In the end, Tony decided to tape everything to the wall before applying it. He knew it was right before the first piece was put down. Total installation took the majority of one day. The result – inspiring!
