Local Massage Expert Offers Fibromyalgia Treatment

Living with fibromyalgia presents a difficult challenge. This unique ailment has no known cause or cure, and if diagnosed a person can experience chronic pain, depression, difficulty sleeping and other difficult symptoms.

Even though fibromyalgia can’t be cured, there are proven ways to alleviate the pain which is a result of this disease. Sufferers of fibromyalgia have searched for different ways to live life pain free, and many have found relief through professional massage therapy.

As a certified massage therapist, I help people with a wide range of ailments, conditions and health goals. Over the years, I have worked with people with fibromyalgia and it’s been my honor to help them find relief and pursue their passions through regular massage therapy.

My approach to massage care prioritizes customized care for every client, and I believe there is no one size fits all solution for massage treatment. Because of this, I offer many different types of massage techniques which can help my clients thrive.

When it comes to treating fibromyalgia, the best approach I have taken is to work collaboratively with my client and help find the right techniques for their needs. In the sections to follow, I will discuss a few different methods which have led to success in people with fibromyalgia.

Swedish Massage

As one of the most popular forms of massage in the world, Swedish massages have been used to provide relief for people suffering from all types of ailments. By using long, soothing strokes, a Swedish massage can be the perfect technique for someone suffering from the pain and tenderness of fibromyalgia. Because many people with fibromyalgia report symptoms like sleep loss and problems with headaches, memory, etc., a Swedish massage is a great way to stimulate both body and mind.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massages are not only relaxing and can make a person feel rejuvenated, they also offer physical benefits which can help people suffering from fibromyalgia. Hot stones work naturally to loosen muscles and increase circulation to a given area, which is a great way to curb symptoms of fibromyalgia. In addition, people who have hot stone massages report better sleep and less stress for many days following the treatment.

Acupressure Massage

While some people hear the term “acupressure” and assume this massage involves high pressure, painful techniques, this technique can be administered carefully and painlessly in the case of fibromyalgia patients. Acupressure is great for people suffering from fibromyalgia because it allows the body to naturally relax, promoting less tension and rigidity in muscle groups and helping increase range of motion.

Targeted Massage

Many people with fibromyalgia feel the pain more in a certain area than others. I offer targeted treatment for common problem areas such as the neck, back, face, hands, feet and face. Wherever you carry your tension, we can help alleviate it through targeted treatment.

If you are living with chronic pain due to fibromyalgia, massage therapy can help provide natural relief. To learn more about my massage therapy services and/or book your first appointment, check out my website or give me a call today.
