In the image to the left is the finished product. It’s a freshly repainted house for home owner John A. in Oxnard, CA. If you look at the image below you can see the ‘before’ picture. You’ll notice that the new paint looks a lot better. It has ‘pop.’
Do you know why?
One reason is the color change. The grey color is darker and more noticeable. Another reason the home now looks so much better is the freshly painted trim work. Against the darker grey color, the trim work stands out more, creating some great contrast.
When repainting a house we first need to pressure wash it, to remove all the loose and peeling paint. We then removed all of the house exterior hardware, such as light fixtures, hose reels and house numbers. We prepared the stucco surfaces by patching all cracked, chipped or missing stucco, and all the wood surfaces were carefully scraped and sanded smooth, and seams in the wood were caulked with a high quality caulking to keep out moisture. After all the surfaces we prepped, including all siding, stucco and trim, we were able to apply two full coats of premium Dunn Edwards paint.
In addition to prepping and painting the house, we also pressure washed their tile roof to remove mold, mildew and algae build-up.
