Project: Exterior Repaint

David and Marylin H. contacted us because they wanted to have the exterior of their home repainted. Their home is 60 years old and was really in need of some specific repairs and a new color.
First, we started by pressure washing all surfaces of the home to remove the loose paint and dirt. We feather edge sanded all of the siding, fascias, windows and trim. Feather sanding is a technical process where all of the dried paint edges must be carefully sanded to blend in with the rest of the paint, making sure to remove all of the large ridges. This was an extremely time-consuming process, but the results are spectacular as you can see in the “after” photo shown above.
New stucco was applied to all of the block retaining walls in the front yard as well as a 40 foot long block wall in the backyard. All of the other original stucco on the home was repaired, including the repairing of the stucco cracks, chips and any missing stucco. All surfaces were then primed with an oil based primer to condition the surfaces and get them ready for paint. We then finished the house with two coats of Dunn Edwards premium paint finishes.
The finished result is a great looking house that the home owners are extremely happy with.
