We have been focusing on home organization until now. However, Refresh Organizers & Designers also helps clients with interior design services and home staging.  Today we will share a successful staging project we worked on recently. Before we go into the project, I would like to make a distinction between home staging and decorating. Home decoration, is about embellishing, generally done by adding new elements to the existing, and usually for a home owner who is living in the space. Staging on the other hand, has become an essential tool for home owners and real estate agents in order to sell a property in less time. According to the Real Estate Staging Association, staged properties sell in average in 23 days, while an empty property can stay 184 days on the market unsold!  We see home staging as highlighting what the property has to offer. After analyzing the property, we put together a design that best showcases the qualities of the house. Each space is then staged within the design we have created in terms of furniture, color palette, accessories, and art. In other words, in a few “brush strokes" we tell how the future home owners could live in the house. We like to keep the space open, inviting and clean. When we visited the property, we immediately felt that the front deck had to be incorporated in the staging project. The property slopes down from the street to the front deck, in an embracing movement around the yard. Adjoint to the garage there is an extra room that we staged as a home office, since more people now are working from home.  The front deck forms a perfect place for a serene outdoor space, which we filled with a spring garden and beautiful fabric planters, with red and blush geraniums. The floor plan of the house offered the opportunity to create separate spaces for a living room, dining room, study area and family room. The family room opens up directly onto the front deck, and creates an inviting interior-exterior space.
