4/7-Oakland,CA-Tips for Deep Cleaning and Organizing Your Bathroom

BY: Your Name, Your Business

The bathroom may often seem like an overwhelming room to conquer, even though it’s smaller. It’s such a dirty job and it really does need a true deep cleaning and scrubbing.  Are you still feeling overwhelmed? We’ll show you how to declutter your bathroom, scrub it down, and which organizational products are fun and practical.

Declutter and Organize Your Bathroom Cabinets

Select a time when you won’t be interrupted and begin sorting through your bathroom cabinets. It’s time to be brutal. Get rid of any expired make-up sunscreen and antibiotic ointments.  Look through your body wash and lotions. If people always gift you those and you don’t use them, it’s time to do a massive re-gift or donation to free up some space. This goes for your trial size and sample products as well. We all only need only one trial size toothpaste and shampoo and that’s only if we travel frequently.  Once you’ve figured out what’s staying, wipe down the inside of the cabinets and your products before storing them again.

Scrub down the Shower and Tub

Remove all shower toiletries and bath toys.  Scrub your shower walls with an extendable brush that will reach hard to reach areas and remove soap scum. Wipe down the shower caddy, soap dish, and your toiletries before rearranging them. Consider adding a mesh lingerie bag to hold all the bath toys. It will hang easily from a hook in the shower. If you don’t want to clutter your shower with excess bottles, think about installing a shower dispenser, which dispenses shampoo, conditioner, and body wash with a button.

Clean the Sink and Toilet

Nothing makes the bathroom look better than a sparkling clean toilet and sink. Take the time to outside and around the bowl as well. Take your time with the sink, wiping down the counters and then scrubbing the faucet and knobs so they sparkle.

Add more Storage Above the Toilet

If you don’t have a lot of storage in one of your bathrooms, consider adding an over-the-toilet shelf. It’s the ideal spot to keep a few spare rolls of toilet paper as well as some decorative plants. You could add a few baskets with bath towels too. If you don’t want an entire shelving unit, consider hanging square wicker baskets above the toilet. One will easily hold rolled-up towels and washcloths, while the other can store a package of toilet paper.

Keep Vanity Organized and Clutter-Free

Don’t put everything back on top of your vanity. Use a few stylish glass jars and store everyday items like cotton balls in them. Consider small turntable where you can moisturizer, face wash, and toothpaste. Keep other items organized in drawers or underneath in cubbies or cabinets.

These are just a few tips for deep cleaning your bedroom. Next week we’ll tackle the kitchen, including organizing the refrigerator. If you would like more tips, please contact Refresh Organizers & Designers at (510) 570-1292.
