Post and panel wayfinding signs are important for helping visitors make their way around your property and find their way. The Sign Authority, Inc, located in Wheaton IL, recently fabricated and installed custom post and panel wayfinding signs for CTS located in Lisle, IL. CTS recently moved their facility to two new buildings in Lisle. Due to the large size of the property and multiple entrances, they were having some challenges with visitors understanding where to park and which building to enter.
The Sign Authority, initially went out to do an extensive site survey, walking the property with the client. We discussed their needs, looking at driving routes and parking lots. Creating proper wayfinding signage can be challenging and in most cases a consultation from a signage professional is needed. Marking all the spots, taking photos and notes, helped us to create a master plan for our client.
The next step was to mock up the signs in the spaces that we determined the signs should be placed. This helped the client understand what the sign was going to look like. We decided on color and design. In this case, we printed the faces on a reflective vinyl so that the signs could be more readable during the later part of the day.
The result of all the preliminary work was quite amazing. The process was lengthy, but worthwhile, as the photos in this article illustrate.
