We love supporting new local businesses, so we were ecstatic when we were asked to help build a sign for a new record store on the east side. After collaborating on various display and design options, we settled on a classic projecting sign that will be visible up and down the block.
The picture provided shows the sign after installation. It sits on the corner of a lively intersection, allowing them to advertise from a reasonable distance. We went for a simple, bright design that doesn’t overwhelm the customer, but conveys the clean and fresh reputation of the store. Using white and black against the brick building exterior helps raise visibility and provides some aesthetically pleasing contrast.
Caydence Records & Coffee is an up-and-coming shop that caters to the vinyl-loving crowd. They boast an expansive inventory of records from a multitude of genres, available for browsing in their cozy, modern space. Patrons can peruse the collection of music, sip on fresh brewed coffee drinks, and take in various works of art from their featured local artists.
The sign consists of two pieces of max metal with a vinyl print overlay. The logo design was printed onto heavy-duty 3M vinyl and carefully applied to each piece of max metal; the prints are identical on both sides. Each face was then attached to the mounting poles that are bolted into the brick building wall. This sign is simple and professional, perfect for their introduction into the neighborhood.
Business signs are of great importance for any business, new or old, but projecting signs in particular have their advantages. Since it juts out from the building a few inches, visibility is greatly increased. A customer can stand up or down the block and be able to easily tell where their destination is. It’s also helpful for people driving by, as many flat building wall signs are only completely legible when looking at them head-on. In this particular area, it’s also another way to help them stand out against neighboring businesses.
