In today’s professional world, it’s very important to have quality signage for your office or business space. Tandem Products, Inc. contacted us regarding a new sign for their lobby that featured their business name, as well as the names and logos of their affiliates, Rhino Hyde Products and Tenderfoot. We worked up a design to their liking and began the production process.
The images provided show the sign both during production and after installation. Looking at the sign as it lays on our production table gives and insight into how it was assembled, which is also over-viewed later in this article. The second image, after installation, really shows off the clean, professional sign and it pops against the basic wood paneling. The shine of the acrylic backing also makes the indoor lighting bounce off of it in an appealing way.
Tandem Products, Inc. is a locally based business that specializes abrasion resistant products. The Rhino Hyde division has been active in since 1965, providing polyurethane sheets, rolls, and liners for their industrial customers. Their other division, Tenderfoot, manufactures animal friendly mesh flooring that is made from plastisol coated steel. Their customers tend to come from agriculture, or pet and research markets.
To make this sign, we started by creating a digital layout of what the sign should look like. This layout was then turned into a stencil to make the placement process a breeze. We took a flat piece of white acrylic and taped the stencil down at the corners. We began at the top with the lettering, securing each individual letter and punctuation mark. Once those were in place, we added the Tandem Products logo and the Rhino Hyde logo. We then removed the stencil and prepped it for installation. Upon installation, we added standoffs to attach the sign to the wall and a clear acrylic panel overlay for that glossy appearance.
