One of our recent projects was for the Mactir Academy of Irish Dance. Their business has been growing over the past few years and they decided to move to a bigger and better studio space. Of course, a new studio means new signage! They wanted something simple and decorative for their front entrance and window vinyl seemed like the perfect solution. We absolutely love their logo, so we were happy that they wanted that included in the design.
The picture provided shows the final product as it appears at Mactir’s new studio space. It prominently features the studio’s name, as well as their unique logo. This logo consists of a wolf outline and a traditional Celtic knot design in the center. They chose subtle yet eye-catching colors for the vinyl and it makes it very easy to read even if there is an external glare on the surface.
Mactir, meaning “wolf”, is a local dance studio that teaches people of all ages and skill levels the art of traditional Irish step dancing. Classes are both competitive and performance based, giving their students the opportunity to participate at either a formal or casual level. Their dancers are featured at various Irish themed events around the Twin Cities throughout the year, most notably at the annual Irish Festival.
Creating this window vinyl was a fairly simple process. First, we laid out the lettering and logo in our design software and sent it off to the printer. Once printed, we sent it through to be die-cut and weeded out the extra material. For installation, we laid out a stencil to properly align the decals and proceeded to smooth out the material. Once we were sure it was free of any cracks or bubbles, we cleaned the area around the vinyl and admired the final product.
The benefits of having a well-branded location are innumerable. For one, it’s important for your first time customers and clients to know that they are in the right place. Seeing your business name and logo also helps reinforce your brand in their minds and makes the company seem more familiar and trustworthy. This kind of branding also shows how professional your business is and that you take pride in your image.
