We recently had the pleasure of working with Quarto Publishing Group. Their office in Minneapolis had a lot of open window space at the entrance that could use a little privacy and branding. They decided to go with some decorative frosting on the adjacent windows with their logo and business name being the main focus on the door in the center. The first image shows the project as a whole. The company wanted to keep it simple, yet decorative, so we decided to go with a curved frosting that doesn’t entirely cover the window. It provides a little bit of privacy by not making front office entirely visible. The second image gives a closer view of the logo. With minimal frosting surrounding it, the logo can really stand out. It’s a classy, modern feel with minimal cost and effort. Quarto Publishing Group is based out of London, but they have four offices located throughout the United States. They are well known for being the world’s leading illustrated book publisher and distribution group, creating more than 1,500 adult and children’s books each year. These books are sold across 35 countries and in 25 different languages, and are on subjects ranging from art, to home improvement, to gardening. Next year, in 2016, they will be celebrating their momentous 40^th anniversary in publishing. These graphics were made out of quality 3M frosted crystal special effects graphic film. To create the decals for the side windows, we simply had to cut the pieces to their precise shape. To create the logo decal, we used a digital printer and die-cutter to achieve the clean and accurate lettering. One the surfaces were cleaned and prepped for installation, we were able to line up the corners and smooth the material onto the glass. We used a stencil and ruler to correctly position the logo on the door, and then applied it in the same manner as the rest. Frosted vinyl on glass has many benefits. It provides as much or as little privacy as you want without sacrificing and natural light, as you would with blinds or curtains. It also acts as a decoration, and at a much lower cost than some alternative interior design solutions. The vinyl film can even help regulate the temperature in your office, lowering your heating and cooling costs.
