We love doing multiple-part projects, so when Akona Manufacturing contacted us to do both interior and exterior signage for them, we were immediately on board. They needed some branding on the blank walls of their office, as well as an exterior monument sign, and an exterior directional sign.
The attached pictures show each part of the project and how well they turned out. The large vinyl logo stands out in a simple yet very noticeable way from the stark white wall and we are excited to see what it all looks like when they get their furniture in. The monument sign has the same large logo and sticks with the black and white color scheme. A light, positioned to perfectly illuminate the sign at night, helps guide customers and employees to their location as it gets darker outside. Finally, the standing directional sign also keeps with the logo and color scheme. It is fairly simple and straightforward, making it easy to notice and understand.
Established in 1950, Akona Manufacturing is a privately held company out of Mendota Heights that was purchased by TCC Materials back in 2006. They manufacture and sell various concrete repair products, construction grouts, underlayments, cement admixes, and stucco products.
The vinyl wall graphic was designed on the computer and printed onto a heavy-duty 3M vinyl. It was then sent to the die-cutter and weeded in preparation for the application. After cleaning the surface of the wall, the vinyl was aligned and the corners of each piece were secured before slowly smoothing them down. The monument and exterior directional signs were done much in the same manner, with vinyl being applied to a sturdy backing.
The first benefit of these signs is that they are all branded to the company. Customers can feel
confident knowing they are in the right location and that all of the signage is tied to the company. The second benefit is related to that, being visibility. Manufacturing companies can sometimes become hidden in plain sight within industrial areas, but noticeable and branded signage greatly reduces that problem.
