A few weeks ago, we were contacted by a representative from Prospect Foundry in Northeast Minneapolis to design and install a new sign for their conference room. The walls were starting to need a little dressing up, and some decorative branding was the solution they were looking for.
In the provided image, you can see the finished product after it was manufactured and installed. The clear acrylic looks sleek and professional against the stark grey wall, and the wood paneling on the side wall acts as a rustic and attractive accent. The sign is simple and clean with colors that pop, making it a great addition without being too gaudy or distracting.
Prospect Foundry, located just outside downtown Minneapolis, is a leading supplier of iron castings. Founded in 1936, they are a staple to their community, providing not only their products and services, but local jobs as well. They stand behind their strong dedication to quality and craftsmanship, just as we do in our industry.
To produce this sign, we started with a basic, pre-cut, clear acrylic panel. Once we have our lettering and graphics mapped out in our design software, we send them to the die cutting machine so they can be cut and then applied to the face of the acrylic panel. Aluminum stand-offs were used to give the sign a raised and sophisticated appearance when mounted to the wall.
When it comes to acrylic signs, there really is no limit to what can be done with them. They are easily cut into any shape or size you desire, and come in nearly any color if you prefer that to the common clear panel. You can even use dimensional letters and logos to make it pop, rather than using flat, vinyl lettering. The stand-offs used also have many options to choose from, and different materials will give the sign a different feel. An additional, and sometimes unforeseen, benefit to using clear acrylic signage is that the lettering can be placed on the backside showing through, so as to protect it from vandalism and the elements. This is ideal for outdoor signage, as those two factors can be a big threat to the integrity of your sign.
