Simone is one of my dearest friends. She also happens to be one of my photography assistants and my second shooter. I met her while working at Tasty n' Sons, a popular restaurant in Portland Oregon. I like to think of us as kindred spirits. We hit it off right away and became insta-friends. When I left the service industry to do photography full time, Simone was right on my heels. She started with assisting me, quickly moved into second shooting, and now she has her own photo business, Juniper & The Sea. To say that I'm proud of here would be an understatement. She has always felt like a little sister to me, and I just think she is such a special person. She is bright, energetic, and damn near always has a twinkle in her eye. Wonderful with people, fun to be around, a hard worker, a go getter, a creative soul and a genuinely wonderful human being. It has been so exciting getting to see her on the other side of the camera this year with her engagement to Egil, and their wedding. They decided to have a super tiny elopement at a family friend's house in Santa Rosa California, near Simone's childhood home. These photos are so bitter sweet because shortly after they were taken the house burned down in the northern California fires. Thank God no one was hurt and everyone was evacuated safely. Simone later told me she will cherish the photos so much more now, but sometimes it will be hard for her to look at them. To view more please visit my website
