Gorge Crest Vineyards is an amazing venue in White Salmon, Washington, just a hop, skip and a jump over from Hood River. It has an absolutely incredible view of Mount Hood. Brooke-Lyn and Ivan has their very sweet and stylish wedding there, and I had the absolute pleasure of photographing it. From beginning to end it was full of love, laughter and celebration. Ivan is an extremely talented musician who not only wrote the processional song, but also performed an original written for Brooke-Lynn at their reception. His voice was so good I kept having to do double takes to assure myself the music was indeed live. The whole event had a relaxed and personal vibe to it. These are some of my favorite bride and groom portraits I've ever taken. Every couple is a little different, and I aim my photography to be as candid as possible, while jumping in to direct when needed. With Brook-Lyn and Ivan I didn't have to give any direction at all! I just told them where to stand and where to walk to and they made the rest of the magic happen. I absolutely love it when people are able to show the essence of their relationship through the way the interact. It's always the best to capture true emotion and movement. After the portrait sessions I like to take a "fly on the wall" approach, and a photo documentary tone.
