Helen and Chris had a very small wedding ceremony that I think we can classify as an elopement. They live in Portland, but for their event they rented their dream home on the Oregon coast in Manzanita, right on the beach! Their day was simple, and elegant, and lovely. Helen’s father walked down the coastal path out to the driftwood pile on the beach where the rest of her family and her groom were waiting for her. Her grandpa married her and Chris and then I photographed them frolicking on the beach to celebrate. Later, Chris whisked them away in his classic Chevy car and they drove off into to sunset, quite literally. Yes, love stories can be this cute and this true.
Being a wedding photographer based out of Portland in the epic and beautiful pacific northwest, I LOVE all the places I get to travel to photograph weddings and elopements. The oregon coast is one of my all time favorites, especially when It’s for a wedding as amazing as this one was. It’s so cool that there are so many different elements on the coast. You have the beach and the driftwood and the forest and usually a stream or creek real nearby as well. It’s a lovely, simple and elegant choice for any wedding. I think I may want to do an anniversary shoot on the beach sometime. Maybe for my ten year! That’s a fun idea. 🙂
