Electrician’s Tip | Going Green in Your Business – Part 2

BY: Your Name, Your Business

Many Small business in the San Francisco Bay Area have been going green recently. It is a trend which many would say is long overdue.  As our costs rise it is important to search for ways to lower our overhead. One of the ways is to reduce your electrical bill.

Many of todays warehouses have large lights called Metal halides or Mercury Vapor. Much of the energy needed is wasted creating heat as the energy is wound thru a magnetic ballast. Similiar to the alternator in a automobile the electricity is wound thru and then exits the ballast to the light and this creates the light. This is a very expensive way to create light. Multiply the cost of one light times a whole warehouse and many will quickly figure out just how expenseive there lighting bill is.

The ability to change from these ineffievent Metal Halides and mercury Vapors is already here. Many companies have found HighBay T8 and HighBay T5. These fixtures have magnetic Ballasts and waste little energy.

If you have a warehouse with old fixtures in the ceiling please contact us for a free quote and written estimate.
