Wait, what is hyperlocal?

Hyperlocal is a term used Marketing to a targeted area versus marketing to a large undefined area. Marketing to Houston Texas is different than marketing to the ZIP code 77018. Marketing to 77018 is different than marketing to a four-block radius of the business location. No one searches for a car repair mechanic within a 35 mile radius. that would be insane. You want a car mechanic to be near you. You can't necessarily market to the phrase "near me” so it has to be done a different way. Here is a great idea that Liberty Garage has taken in order to rank higher in a hyperlocal market so they can rank for searches like, “car repair near me.”

Highlight the hyperlocal area.

If you highlight a local area versus just highlighting yourself then people will see you in connection to the area not just to your location. For example, do you frequent the restaurant on the corner? Then why not highlight that restaurant from your social channels and on your website as a valid restaurant in the area that you employees like to eat. If you do this enough times when people search for that restaurant then your listing can also show up though your businesses are in no way related. Remember, the person searched for “___________ near me.” If you do this for numerous companies in the area, Google along with the other search engines, will list and rank you as a business that has authority in that hyperlocal area. Google always tries to give people the best result for their search. In this case you are telling Google that you are the person who knows about this hyperlocal area but since you are doing all this from your business channels, you are transferring that authority over to your business and that my friend, will hyperlocally rank.
