November 5, 2015 was a momentous day for Special Olympics of Northern California.. The date was set aside for their 20th Anniversary Gala at the Metreon in San Francisco, California. The fourth floor was reserved for the event. A combination of musicians, caterers, sound engineers and of course, Signature d’Sign was there to set up the day before. Everyone paraded their special equipment and skills to the facility, where they found a lovely setting with a wonderful view of the city of San Francisco. Lee and Vic left our office at around 10:30 that morning and ended up spending most of the day setting up the many signs we had produced for the event.
Previously, we had been approached by Special Olympics to make “a few” signs for an event. I believe they needed 3 signs; each was 3 x 8 feet and they supplied the Mighty Mite stands. By the end of the project, they had 7 stand up signs, multiple retractible banners, a backdrop, several posters with items for the silent auction, multiple posters for the Gala entry, and hanging signs for the podium. Kgrafix of Concord, CA also got into the act with consulting on a printing project for programs.

The main challenge we had was that of trying to match the same gold color between polyester fabric, banner paper, vinyl, and then also with the specialty paper used by our commercial printer, Galaxy Press in Concord, CA.
About 3 days before the event, we were asked to drive to the event and set up. We did not stay for the event, but were given permission to use some of the shots in a video. Enjoy!
