Remember when you were a little kid and your parents took you to play at the water park? Neither do I. . . I was lucky if we went to a park that had a wading pool. . . maybe a river to watch (I'm from Oregon). . . but usually it was simply flat ground with swings and a slide; maybe a tennis court, and some tables. . .
If you go to visit the Meadow Homes Community Park, which is a Concord City Park, you will be met by a boat which has the back end implanted in the ground, and another ship which is also part of the permanent park toys. There are also numerous fish, and other aquatic characters to delight.
The key to this park is the water. You won't see it until you put your hand in the right place. Then, squirt, rain, spray, etc! What a great way to spend a hot summer day! The city was concerned that the children who use the park weren't able to figure out how to find the hidden water switches, so they asked Signature d'Sign to design and execute a system of signs which show children of multiple languages and cultures how to operate the sprays with little hands.
Yesterday it was my privilege to go there and stencil hands and arrows in specific places. Now the kids can see where to put their hands, so that they can enjoy themselves and surprise their friends! At Signature d'Sign, we enjoy developing things that are a little out of the ordinary. Not your usual signs!
Materials used were stencils made from cut vinyl, Rustoleum spray paint applied with rollers and brushes, acetone for paint clean up, and Windex to clean the structures before painting.
