A week ago, I wrote about getting our Acura wrapped and the difficulties involved with designing your own vehicle wrap and then getting the time to book your own facility and installer to actually do the job. Seemed like every time we got ready to wrap, we got business from outside; so naturally, my project always went to the end of the line.
But now, driving around town in a wrapped vehicle is a whole new experience!
As I was waiting at the crosswalk at Todos Santos Park one morning, I was becoming more and more disturbed at a lady who was slowly crossing the street and smiling and pointing and commenting about something to her partner . . . My thoughts were, Ok lady, CROSS THE STREET! then I realized, I’m driving a car that is wrapped with bubbles! Of course people will notice – and usually in a good way! After that, I decided to quit rushing from one place to another, but instead enjoy the traffic and let them shop my car while they wait! A crowded lot at the Costco gas station is now a place to display my marketing material.
A few days later, I was stopped at a light when a hip young man walked in front of me and gave me a thumbs up. . . Once again I thought oh yeah – he likes the wrap! Yesterday a brand new Corvette drove up next to me at a traffic light and motioned for me to roll the window down. He yelled, It definitely gets my attention! I told him we could wrap new cars too! It’s great to protect your paint!
More and more, I notice people checking out my car while acting like they are looking the other way. It’s a crack up! They are reading and trying to memorize the contact information, but as soon as I look their way, they do the same shifty eyeball thing that my children used to do when they were supposed to be taking a nap. . . so funny!
When I walked into my chiropractor’s office last Wednesday, a lady followed me in to tell me that she had been chasing me. She loved the bubbles on my car, and asked if I could wrap her car with a waffle? The bubbles are definitely inspiring potential client imagination.
The funniest scenario so far; a smallish car behind me on the way home yesterday afternoon. A volumptuous blond lady had her generous upper body pressed against her steering wheel. She was twisting her head and straining with one eye to see what was on the top of the trunk of my car. I’m not sure if she was looking at the bubbles or the text, but she was explaining it to the woman in the other seat. The elderly woman next to her was bobbing her head back and forth and up and down to try and help with the vision. She had little or no hair remaining on her head, and the total picture of the bobbing head completed my day’s entertainment. At that moment, I started wishing I had a camera perched on the back of my car. I recall this vivid picture in mind today and chuckle!
Having a wrapped vehicle opens up new entertainment possibilities while you drive, and also expands your sales – just like it reads on my car!
