I want to share a link with you. . . . These are some of the most extreme designs you will see anywhere. While they are “over the edge extreme”, they inspire and give ideas for all of us, whether we are designers or clients looking for a design. Go to exoticvehiclewraps.com. While I would never suggest a design that will cause a traffic accident, it is great to catch the eye of a passerby. These designs also show examples of durability, and laminate possibilities.
The videos also show techniques for successful wraps. I was surprised at the amount of stretching the vinyl will sustain. Thanks to Arlon for this presentation.
Other things to consider when selecting premium wrap material are:
• where is the vehicle housed? Garage protection is a plus
• how much pollution is in your area?
• what is the forecast? Sun every day will tend to break down the vinyl, especially on the roof or hood of your vehicle. Wrapping trim and bumpers, etc is not recommended.
• how well was the vehicle cleaned before application?
• was the metal heated after the application to help seal it?
• printed or unprinted, or cut graphics?
• was it installed by a certified installer?
• is it laminated with the laminate which is appropriate for the vinyl?
One of our latest client’s van and two of his drivers are shown above. American Ace Supply decided to adorn the 2015 Ford Transit with information about what they supply, as well as to be seen as they deliver supplies all over the bay area. The cartoonist for this job (Eric Van Dusen) was hired by Signature d’Sign to work closely with our client, Thomas Ng, of American Ace Supply. Some of us are still wondering what the animation’s name will be, and I’m sure you can contact Thomas with your suggestions (AmerAceSupply.com). Some of the graphics on this truck are cut graphics, and some are printed. This allows some of the information to be changed from time to time. As you can see from the picture we took, I think his crew will enjoy driving it, and meet people who will have questions about the business.
