North Coast Signs recently worked with LEGOLAND in Carlsbad, CA to install a full set of 56 custom-designed light pole banners throughout their guest parking areas. The goal wasn’t just to mark spaces. It was to create a navigation system that doubled as a branded experience—using LEGOLAND’s iconic minifigure artwork to help families find their way without stress or confusion. Every Banner Was Built With Purpose—Not Just Printed
The banners were digitally printed in full color using a 4/C process on high-performance 18oz block-out vinyl. Each measured 24 inches wide by 60 inches tall and was designed for double-sided visibility. LEGOLAND provided custom artwork that featured different LEGO characters, each helping guests remember where they parked. This wasn’t just whimsical—it was smart. Families could recall they were near “the pirate” or “the knight” instead of struggling to remember a row number. Every banner transformed a standard parking lot into a kid-friendly, on-brand welcome zone.

LEGOLAND’s guest traffic is constant, and their signage has to hold up to full exposure. We finished the banners with reinforced top and bottom pole pockets, added clean-cut edges, and installed grommets at each corner to prevent stress points from tearing. Every element was fabricated to perform through sun, wind, and Southern California’s busy tourist seasons. These were not temporary banners. They were long-term solutions designed to look sharp and stay standing across thousands of daily arrivals.
We Installed the System With Precision—Even on a Challenging Surface
The installation surface posed a challenge. Because of angled pavement grades throughout the parking lot, a standard scissor lift wasn’t safe or practical. Instead, our team used a bucket truck to ensure safe access and consistent elevation for every banner. Over two days, we installed each set using banner rod hardware and custom-fit mounting brackets that aligned cleanly with existing poles. This wasn’t a job for improvisation. It required planning, safety compliance, and careful coordination with LEGOLAND’s operations staff to avoid interfering with guests and staff during peak activity.
