One of the projects we are especially proud of at North Coast Signs is our custom cable display for Renovate America’s corporate headquarters. It’s a great example of our approach to creating custom solutions for each and every client — and its eye-catching appeal led us to a new client. After seeing the Renovate America display, the Western Riverside Council of Governments got in touch with us to inquire about a similar display, but on a smaller scale for their own space. We love a good custom project and were excited to work with the council.
Custom Cable Display
The Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG) is an agency that brings together local governments to cooperate on areas like planning and coordination of issues that impact various areas and agencies within the council’s jurisdiction. They have an important mandate, and a diverse membership, which they wanted reflected in the custom cable display.
WRCOG provided us with the photos they wanted to highlight. With a good understanding and measurement of their available space, we created custom cables tailored for their wall. We created a layout of columns and tiles with two different sizes for the different municipalities to be highlighted and featured. The custom wall mount cable frame system features 10 cables and 108 single sided panel grips, with four columns for eight inch tiles and one column for 13.5 inch tiles. The entire frame system is matte aluminum finish for durability and a modern look.

Using frosted acrylic tiles with graphics, we showcased the selected images, and produced all of the logos and city seals for the tiles. Our entire process included design time, revising vector artwork as needed, proofs, adjustments, individual contour cuts for custom logos, individual custom cut paths for seals, and application on the finished panels.
On location in Riverside, we installed the interior lobby cable wall system, having installed clips on tiles in our shop. The tiles went onto the cables at the council headquarters, where our staff worked to make it perfect with tension adjustments, leveling, alignment, and positioning.
