We did exactly this during one of our recent projects, creating custom retail storefront signs for a new store location opening at the local outlet mall.

Clarins, a major skincare franchise, opened a new location in an outlet mall here in Carlsbad. Knowing how important great signage is in a retail setting, they connected with us to create a set of retail storefront signs. Of course, it being an outlet mall location, there were certain installation and time constraints we had to meet, along with our usual dedication to complete customer satisfaction.
Clarins is equally devoted to their customers, offering innovative products that make a big difference in people’s skin health. They are a creative, fresh company with a strong brand, and they relied on us to translate that branding to the new store and all of its storefront signs.

Our process always involves consultation with our clients at every step of the way. For Clarins, we worked with the head office in New York to ensure our designs fit the space, and according to the corporate branding requirements. We also worked within the regulations and rules of the outlet mall location. For example, our scissor lift for installation had non-skid wheels to comply with property rules. With the busy shopping season approaching, we accelerated our production following permit processing to meet the deadline for opening the day before Thanksgiving. We accomplished this in part through on-site processing with the city, providing the appropriate drawings and documents. It all came together smoothly!

The retail storefront signs were successful, too. We created a beautiful matching set. First the
custom blade sign measured 18" tall x 36" wide. It was constructed using 1" thick solid white PVC painted PMS red 200. The logo was fabricated with 1/4" thick flat cut white acrylic letters applied flush-mounted to both sides. Installation included the previously mentioned scissor lift, and hardware for utilizing an existing sign bracket.

The main retail storefront sign was mounted above the front door, non-illuminated sign. It was fabricated using a 3mm thick composite aluminum sign, painted red Pantone 200, with 1/4" thick white acrylic lettering applied to face. The overall size measured 27" tall x 120" wide in proporation to the storefront. The aluminum panel was flush-mounted to wall surface, using screws drilled through panel face to be touched up with matching red vinyl circles to hide any hardware.
