In the image above, and in the images below (click to enlarge), you can see a custom vehicle wrap we recently did for Cobian USA, a footwear company that aims to “provide customers with the highest level of comfort available in the casual footwear market.”
The graphics on the wrap feature Bethany Hamilton, who is a main ambassador for their company. You might know her by her first name, Bethany, or you might know her as ‘Soul Surfer’, which is the title of the feature length movie of her story. If you happen to be unfamiliar with her, she is a famous professional surfer who miraculously survived a shark attack that took her entire left arm. Her story is one of perseverance and faith, as she has come back from her injury to compete once again at the highest level with only one arm.

Along with Bethany, this exciting wrap also features other action sports and lifestyle imagery consistent with the soul of the Cobian brand. Standard graphics on the side of a van like this, with just the name of the company and perhaps a phone number, don’t nearly have the impact of these graphics. Putting that extra effort into graphic design can be the difference maker in getting your product or service noticed.
This van wrap was also part of the 3M/Nissan dealer graphics program, which provides funding from 3M toward the production of custom graphics with the purchase of select new Nissan vehicles (see dealer for details). As such, we created these full color prints on 3M IJ-180 material with matching UV protective gloss laminate, on our eco-friendly HP Latex printer. Unique to this execution is the application of the graphics on the large sides of the van body, with a stripe of the imagery that run along the lower part of the side doors and flows over the front wheel wells. This type of detail requires meticulous measurements, template creation and installation to fit just right.
Our customer was stoked when they saw their newly wrapped van! This is Cobian’s street marketing vehicle, that they use to promote their products at various beach fairs, trade shows and surf contests all over the California coast. Now they can take their van on location and know that they will be both seen and remembered for being there.
