Jason Kenney is the owner of Blackwood Designs (http://blackwooddesignsd.com), a high end custom cabinetry and woodworking business located in Vista, CA. Blackwood Designs services all of San Diego County and are known for their high quality work. Recently Blackwood Designs updated their logo to better reflect their high quality image and needed some new vehicle graphics to match.
After consulting with Blackwood Designs to figure out what was most important to them we were able to utilize some fairly unique materials for this type of application that would better appeal to their target audience.
When consulting with clients we typically want to make sure to cover all key areas of the process like marketing goals, budget, timeline, etc, but we also make sure to cover the smaller details and specifics like textures, color, contrast and key communication elements. In the end we decided to go with a combination of 3M 1080 matte black film with etched cast vinyl (typically used for window applications). Etched vinyl provides a more rich, semi-metallic look, yet with a softer finish than conventional silver film when applied to a darker background color, in this case green. The matte black provides an intriguing effect of fine, multi-tone detail.
This project got rave reviews from both the owner of Blackwood Designs as well as his associates and customers. If you have one vehicle or a whole fleet we can wrap them or just add subtle vehicle graphics like we did for Blackwood Designs.
