When is a banner not a banner?
When it needs to serve a higher purpose.
Coast Kids Preschool in Carlsbad, CA had been using banners for the past few years, as a permanent fixture of their marketing effort, to promote enrollment to those who passed by their facility. However, the persistent sun and wind conditions where they were hung caused them to deteriorate all too quickly. This created a less-than-desirable presentation for the high quality preschool, and made the message increasingly difficult to read over time. North Coast Signs worked with them to identify the ideal location for optimum visibility, then created a test print of larger letters be sure their message would be visible from the neighboring street up to ¼ mile away. We then refined the design to create a more inviting visual by incorporating their logo, which included fun line art of two kids playing on the beach. Finally, we added a bit of the magic of Photoshop to extend the sand area of the beach in the logo to create a baseline for the overall design. The new sign was printed on 3M calendared vinyl with overlaminate to provide added UV protection. It was then mounted to a lightweight aluminum composite panel custom sized to exactly fit the desired location on a fence between two slate pillars. The panel was attached to the aluminum fencing using stainless steel screws for long-term stability. The result: A more attractive, durable and compelling sign that will invite new enrollment for the kids of the future for years to come
